Welcome; thanks for being here; I am a sax player and composer; this is where you can find my music and my own projects.I love all music but my biggest influences are jazz, funk and world.
I also have a strong belief in the transformative power of music which is becoming increasingly influential in my work.
Sitting at the interface of IMprovised jazz,funk,blues and world music,IMPULSE orchestra is where a polyrhythmic approach to groove sets the scene for soaring solos, group improvisation and rich textured compositions. IMPULSE orchestra is an 8 piece 'mini big band' that honours the great improvised music traditions of the world. Featuring a 5 piece horn section reaching for the cosmic heights anchored by richly woven grooves from a rhythm section comprising guitar, bass, drums, the band is ideally suited to Jazz, world or other music festivals which showcase the art of improvisation, the life giving power of rhythm, the emotive momentum of harmony and the soaring beauty of melody!
In 2022, IMPULSE orchestra won the Queensland Music Awards Jazz Category.

Besides being a musician, I'm also a published author.
I have written two books, now available as ebooks with audio, for young readers. They are, of course, about music!
Harry the Honkerzoid and Planet of the Honkerzoids were created with my father as illustrator when my own kids were younger. They feature sound effects and wonderful humourous illustrations.
Written for all young or young at heart musicians.
